Majestic mountains, green pastures, shining lakes and even a bit of ‘dolce vita’ at the end of the stages, touching on the four citys of Bellinzona, Locarno, Lugano and Mendrisio!
Day 1: Amidst beautiful Alpine landscapes
Meeting with the guide at Ambrì train station. Spectacular passage from the Leventina Valley to the Blenio Valley. The pleasant Piora plateau with its Alpine lakes is nestled in a rugged mountain environment. The descent from Passo dell'Uomo leads past pastures, green plains and dense fir forests and ends in the village of Olivone. Transfer to Bellinzona.
Day 2: Cultural charm and farming wealth
The fortress of Bellinzona with a breathtaking view of the capital of Ticino marks the start of the tour. We explore the hillsides of the Bellinzona region by bike and also cover some sections on foot to take in some scenic sights. Back on our bikes, we cross the attractive "Piano di Magadino" Park with its farms, fields and nature reserves. The day ends on the shores of Lago Maggiore in Locarno.
Day 3: Among the enchanting lakes of Ticino
We dive into this beautiful day at Lake Lugano as we approach the starting point by train. We discover the region riding along the lakeshore and with a climb through the woods towards the highest points which offer fascinating views over the entire region. We return to Lugano to enjoy the city.
Day 4: Fascinating Mendrisiotto, bordering between Switzerland and Italy
We move from the village of Mendrisio towards the mountainside of Monte San Giorgio and will experience a varsatile day with fantastic views. The UNESCO World Heritage area is full of picturesque paths through the vineyards. To end the tour on a high note, at the end of the day we enjoy a delicious aperitif at the traditional wine cellars of Mendrisio.
